Vacation and a New Start

Hello All,
I hope you all had a good week.  Ours was very relaxing! First off my sister really loved the Quaker pillow! It is always so nice to make something special and have it appreciated.

We had a wonderful time in the little town of Laurens, NY.  We even spent a day in Cooperstown - took a boat ride and dinner lakeside.
View from the back of the boat.

Enjoying our ride!

Yesterday was the start of the SWAT over at the about.com forum.  SWAT is "Stitch Week A Thon" we stitch whatever we want as much as we can and post our progress. It is so much fun and you can get so very much accomplished. No pressure just fun.  If any of you are looking for a great bunch of stitchers to hang out with the gang at about.com's cross stitch forum are wonderful, helpful, kind (no bickering)and our cross stitch guide Connie, is always there to help.  She also has some nice small freebies!  Here is my start from yesterday:

It is "Blessings" by the Stitcherhood.  It is a gift for my friend Carol who retired this June after 35 years of teaching.  She is decorating a house for the first time (DH is a minister so they have always lived in the houses the churches provided).  She likes fall colors so fall it is.
Think I will stitch awhile.  Hope you are having a great weekend and are staying cool - 90 degrees here in PA!

Bye for now . . .

That's a great start. Amazing that you're able to stitch while on a holiday.
