Chi Friday

I just noticed on Black Sheep's Bit of the Web that he posted a picture of his fur-babies and so did Feathers in the Nest (both great blogs), so I thought I would pass by and post my cuties!.

The top one is Jack and the bottom is Bailey. Believe it or not they are litter mates lol. Enjoy!!!

Some Finishes and Starts

Good Morning All,
I hope all you who are in your summer season are enjoying it so far. It has been a brutal week here in PA. Hot and humid. Today we are waiting and watching for severe storms to start. At least I have been a busy girl (and not just at work lol). I have a few finishes and 2 starts.

First let me show you the progress I have made on the Little House Needleworks Virtues series. I am just loving this series and have promised myself that, for a change, I will start and finish them as they arrive each month.

and ...

soon to  be completed Faith.

Now for the long ignored Shores ....

Block 2

block 3 (it's a beginning)

And finally...

Hannah Purington - Little House Needleworks Diary Series
Stitched on 14 count aida - tea dyed by me using Vonna's Baking and Basting tutorial.
It's easy to do and I love how it came out so I am dying more and doing 2 more companion
pieces. If you are interested you can find the tutorial here

Also a quick reminder that Google Reader is going away so please follow my blog on Bloglovin
It's easy to do and I like the format.

Well hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go. At least it's only 4 days a week 4 hours a day for the summer which is really nice. Next week off to the camper for a week. I will post pictures when I get back (yep really will) I hope to get some reading done and a lot of stitching.

See you in July!!! Until then happy stitching .....
Hugs,
Rose

Updates & Finishes :)

Good Morning All!
Well I know it has been a while but hear we go. Christmas City has finally begun to feel some tastes of spring. There are trees budding all over the place ahhhhh-choo! But they do look nice. Winter went on for way to long. We had a day a couple of weeks ago that hit 88 degrees but we are back to nights in the upper 30's and days in the upper 50's. A little cold for this time of the year but at least it is a step in the right direction. I think we will go right to heat when the time finally arrives and then I will complain about the heat. I perfer the cool weather. If it would stay around 70 all year round I might be comfortable lol. Not likely huh!?!?!

Well let's get to the updates:

I participated in a biscornu exchange on the About.com forum. Here is the one I made (first one ever):

The pattern is Biscornu #356 from the Floss Box using recommended colors and done on rose 14 count fiddler's cloth. For a first time I think it really came out nice. The pictures does not do justice to the colors.

And this is what I received from Minnie at All XXXs If you haven't checked out her blog please do she really does some wonderful stitching.

Now for my finishes:

A Day At the Beach

Little House Virtues Series Hope

Little House Virtues Series Love

And what I am working on:

Little House Virtues Series Peace

My Big Toe The Wedding

I am really hooked on Little House Needleworks patterns.  I am doing the entire Virtues series. I'm not sure how I will finish them but I am thinking of making a window topper out of them for the bedroom. We will see when I have them all. I also ordered her Hometown Holiday Series and I am so looking forward to stitching them. I also promised myself I would get back to work on Shores of Hawk Run Hollow. I love the new Spring of Hawk Run Hollow but I can NOT order the pattern until us finish Shores. (I must be good ... I must be good ... I must be good...)

We opened our camper last weekend so I am hoping to get some serious relaxing and stitching done this summer.

Thank you for hanging in there with me! I will keep trying to do better (I can't do much worse at this blogging thing can I lol)

Until til the next time...

Hugs
Rose

Updates and Spring???

Hi Gang!

Well as much as I like winter I am done with it this year. It seems like it has been cold with a couple of inches of ice or snow but nothing big. I am tired of being cold and want to open my windows and hear the birds singing before it is time to complain about the heat lol.

Friday was a beautiful 50 degree day, the birds were singing, I even opened my bedroom window for a while. Yesterday was freezing, windy and and last night the wind chills were down below zero. Oh Spring please hurry!!

I think another reason I am waiting for Spring is the tempting pictures over on Carriage House Samplings blog of her new "Spring At Hawk Run Hollow". It is sooooo tempting!  I promised myself that I have to finish "Shores" first but then I think on to "Spring".

Thanks to the stomach bug and last week's oral surgery I did get a lot of stitching done. I am still working on "The Wedding" and made a small amount of progress.

The picture really doesn't do the colors justice. I can't find my camera and had to use my phone :(

Then I spent all my time since surgery Thursday on "A Day At The Beach". I am looking forward to getting it done so I can get back to "Shores".  This is for my remodeled bathroom as I took the colors from this pattern.

I also signed up for auto delivery on Little Sheep Virtues  by Little House Needleworks. The first one "Hope" came this week. I just have to decide what fabric to use and how I want to finish them. It will take some thinking as there are 12 of them. Any ideas???

Well I guess I should get some ironing done as I need clothes for work tomorrow. I hope you are all enjoying your stitching and I look forward hearing all about your projects!!

Hugs,
Rose

2013 Start

Good Morning to all my followers and a big welcome to my 2 new followers!

I have finally started my 2013 stitching! First (better late than never) here is a picture of my first TUSAL.

Not bad considering I started January 1st LOL. The colors are even prettier than this picture shows and are almost all from the biscornu that I have been making for an exchange. I am mailing it out Wednesday so as soon as I know my exchange partner has received it I will gladly share. I really like the pattern that I got from The Floss Box. Their biscornu patterns are beautiful!!

Last week I started a project I got to hang in the new bathroom. I picked the bathroom colors from the colors used in the pattern. It is A Day At The Beach from Country Cottage Needle Works.  I am using the suggested colors but am stitching it on 16 count hand dyed aida. I am just not a linen kind of gal. I stitch because I love to and I just can't see well enough that linen is not a struggle.  Here is my progress so far.

You really can't see the colors of the floss or fabric in this but trust me when I tell you it is looking good.

I have been down with the stomach bug since Friday night but feeling alittle better today so will try to get some stitching in.  I spent the morning winding floss on some cards and over the weekend (while lying on the couch) I read a great book. It's called Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay. I highly recommend it. It is a great read.

Well I hope all of you are staying well and warm (it has turned freezing here). I am watching the Inauguration of President Obama and going to start stitching. Voted for him or not he is now the president for 4 more years and this is history (and I love history). I wish him well for all our sakes.

Have a wonderful week and will be back soon!!!
Hugs,
Rose
