Lots of finishes to show! June report!

Good Morning all,
Well I did spend a lot in June but Mel gave us an extra $50.00 to spend so I still have managed not to skip a month. I think that is my goal. To not have to skip a month lol! Here is the report:

June:     $9.30 - 2 yards of 18 count aida (cream but I am planning to dye it)
$11.00 - 3 patterns (stash unload) Little House - Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Cedar Hill - Christmas Country Village and Fancy That - Shaker Village bell pull
$16.99 - If We Pray Inspirational Boxer Kit
$9.50 - Needle minder (lost mine)
                $18.50 - Prairie Schooler - book No. 58 OOP
$23.80 - Hardwicke Manor Embroidery Hoop 6.5" Square

Total Spent:          $89.09
Total Allowed:    -  75.00
Total Over            $14.09

Carry Over:         $41.75
Total Over:           - 14.09
June Carry over: $27.66

Not to bad considering all I got! First the stitching I've worked on in the last 2 months as I didn't get my camera working in May.

"Under the Boardwalk"
Gift for my Hubby for our 31st Anniversary.
Nancy very kindly charted it for Seaside Heights for me :)

The Needleworker

Mystery SAL

Blue Ribbon Designs
Find Your Happy Place
(pattern is a gift from Maggee @ Stitching Devotee)
(making for a non-stitching friend)

Shores from Hawk Run Hollow
Almost finished with block 5 and shown with my new needle minder and my wonderful new hoop. I have discovered I an returning to hoops more and more and I had read about these hand made Hardwicke Manor Hoops. I had been using a vintage hoop. Ordered this one and just love it! It's even wide enough to hold my pattern clip but it's very lite!

And now for the patterns purchased!

All Three for $11.00!

I have wanted this OOP for a long time but could never find it and when I did the price was usually outrageous! Finally it's mine so I guess I will have to add it to my Christmas rotation lol! Not that I don't have enough to do!

Well I guess that's all for now! time to get ready and head out to a "paint your own picture" ALS fundraiser with my dear friend Bea. It is in honor of her husband Jack. He was truly a one of a kind man who is missed by many!!

Hugs to all,

Stitch From Stash May Report

Nothing like posting at the last minute (although I did send my report to Mel a week+ ago) but work got in the way. This is the last week of school and my office is crazy busy. After Friday it will still be busy but with the kids gone it will be really quiet.

In May I bought some more patterns:

May:       $6.97 (bibs to stitch for baby gifts)
$.99 - Expect Angels and Miracles Happen - Theron Traditions
                $7.95  - Think Deeply-Lizzie Kate
$9.95  - New England Sampler - Theron Traditions
$8.00 - Holiday Village - Little House needleworks - auto ship

I spent $27.88 but I had carry over left and I still have $41.75 to carry into June.

I finished The Needleworker, worked on Shores of Hawk Run Hollow and started a free SAL from By The Bay Needlworks with my friend Bea. It is almost done and I used only fabric and floss from my stash.

I promise to try to post pictures next month.  Until then...

April Stitch from Stash

Hello All and Happy Spring!?!?! I know the calendar says it's spring but here in PA Spring seems to have gotten lost on the way here! It is still cold and windy. Unfortunately the one part of Spring that has found us is the pollen. The newspapers have been calling it the Perfect Storm of Pollen and I believe it. It's getting tiresome but between the pollen and the cold who want s to be outside? At least if gives me time to stitch!

Here is my April report.  I spent:

April: $4.00 - (Primitive Hare pattern) contest
$6.00 - (pattern on ebay "Home is Where you hang your cross stitch)
$4.40 - Crescent Colors caterpillar (2) to finish Needleworker
.88 - DMC floss to finish Happiness
$7.00 - 2 Bargen Patterns on Stash Unload (Santaberry Puddingby Shephards Bush and,
                        Halloween Fun by Poppy Kreations.
Total Spent: $22.28

Carry over

Not too bad although maybe I can do better next month!

I didn't work on Shores this month as I was loosing my mojo so I started Needleworker by Little House Needleworks. I bought the pattern and threads last summer while on vacation and I just got a basket I want to hang it on so I started.

The fabric is 16 count Aida which I tea and coffee dyed using Vonna's tutorial. This seems to be my go to fabric lately. Please pardon the wrinkles but I wanted to get this post in. At least you can see the color variations in the fabric although it is darker than it is showing here.

I hope you are all enjoying your stitching and this wonderful challenge!! Thank you so very much Mel!! You are the best and I am sure we all appreciate all that you do!!

Until next time,

stitch from stash March

Hello all!

I can't believe how quickly March has gone by. It's time for my March Stitch From Stash Challenge report. I bought 4 patterns for a total of $23.99. Close but still under the $25.00 limit. I will say that I added a few things to my wish list but also took a few off so this waiting to buy is working.

Here are the patterns I bought.

I got the 2 Trilogy patterns Cat Treat and Friendship for $8.98. They are for gifts. then I saw Little House Needleworks and Shakespeare's Peddler teamed up to sell two wonderful patterns Neighborhood Friends and Cats in the Garden with the profits to go to animal rescue. You could even nominate your favorite rescue to possibly receive a portion of the money raised. Not only do I love both desginers but anyone who knows me knows my dogs are rescues so I couldn't resist.

I worked on Shores Of Hawk Run Hollow and since January I have finished blocks 3 and four, did the outlining of all the other blocks and started block 5. Not bad for someone who has taken at least 2 years to do the first 2 blocks!

Then I put it aside and started working on Under the Boardwalk by Pickel Barrel Designs, which had been kitted up for a while. The colors are brighter than I usually like but it is a gift for my husband. He used to go to Seaside Heights in NJ as did I in our teenage/young adult years. We also spent many happy days on the boardwalk with our girls when they were young so is has been so very hard when it was destroyed by Super Storm Sandy and then by fire a few months later. I had to contact Nancy the designer with a questions about the pattern and when I told her the story she very generously charted the words "Seaside Heights" where "Under the Boardwalk" as to go. I can't wait to finish and hopefully will be done by the end of the week.

I hope you all are doing well and enjoying "Stitching from Stash", until next time....

Stitch From Stash February Report.

Well I did pretty good this month. I continued working on Shores of Hawk Run Hollow. I completed blocks 3 and 4, started block 5 and outlined the remaining 7 blocks. I am feeling so accomplished. I had $100 dollars to spend this month plus a free weekend to spend what I wanted from the Nashville show. I am proud to say I spent $8.50 on a pattern and nothing else!!! I will get back to you with pictures soon but I wanted to get my report in!! I hope the weather has improved where you live. The snow has started melting here and we had a thunderstorm today. Snow and cold is supposed to return next week!

Hugs to all,

Stitch From Stash 2014

Hello to anyone who has hung in here with me. Sorry I was gone for so long but I have been crazy busy at work and stitching. I went back to full-time this year and although I am enjoying it I seem to only have time to stitch lol.

I (along with 129 others) have joined the Stitch From Stash 2014 Group that is Mel's idea at Epic Stitching. We have committed to only spending $25 a month (or less). Luckily I have so many projects in my stash and lots of fabric and floss. I am hoping to spend as little as possible. We are to report our progress by the 28th of each month on our blog. See the method to my madness?!? This will also help me to make time to blog!

First let me show you my final finish for 2013:

Jingle As Ye Enter
by Victorian Motto
Using tea dyed 14 count Aida
Recommended Floss by Victorian Motto

Then between Winter Break and snow days I really got 2014 off to a great start.

Finish #1 - 2014
Baby It's Cold Outside
Tea dyed 16 count Aida and recommended threads

Finish #2 - 2014
by Lizzie Kate
Gift for my wonderful #1 daughter's birthday
Tea dyed 14 count Aida and recommended threads

And WIP block #3 of Shores From Hawk Run Hollow

I am happy to report that I spent $0 and all were stitched from my stash!!!

All these snow days are really taking a toll on my paycheck so this is the perfect year to "stitch from stash".  Thank you Mel for a wonderful idea whose timing couldn't have been better. Whenever I feel the itch to stash shop I go on 123Stitch and add to my wish list!

I hope all has been well with all of you and I look forward to sharing many finishes with you!!!

Stay warm and dry and happy stitching!
